Sam White is not one to shy away from bringing to life a complex work of art like The Wedding Band. Relying on the connection in details, the director reflects on the meaning found in subtle moments, like the audience seeing the American Flag at the top of the show, while listening to voices sing “Jacob's Ladder.” For White, working on this production has shown her the beauty of having young actors as her colleagues, something she credits for keeping the rest of the team honest by way of their truth and innocence. As the director affirms, it all comes down to shared understanding, a feeling found in a rehearsal room that encourages conversation and the ability to be able to ask for help and actually receive it.
